Casting for 2012 Season

Oregon Cabaret Theatre is a professional non-Equity theatre in Ashland, Oregon, just one block from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Our theatre is unique and elegant, housed in a beautifully renovated church with table-seating on tiered levels and balcony. 2012 is our 27th season and we have built a reputation for producing top-quality shows with superb talent and high production values.

Salary is $1600-1700/month. Out-of-town actors receive $500/month housing stipend and $200 travel allowance (or round-trip plane ticket).

Porter classics as well as lesser-known songs. 3 friends linger over a nightcap after the rest of the party guests have gone, revealing a complicated triangle of affections.

The Big Bang

Two ambitious young songwriters hosting a backers audition in a Park Ave. penthouse. They act out all the parts in their extravagant musical about the entire history of the world using every piece of furniture and home decor.

Life Could Be A Dream

The male counterparts of The Marvelous Wonderettes (plus one gal) rehearsing in Denny’s basement in hopes of winning the Big Whopper radio contest. 60s era doo-wop pop music.

4 young men and 1 young woman – 20s – strong actors who are fantastic pop singers with excellent harmony skills and good movement skills.It's the early 60s and the guys are five years out of high school.

Denny - somewhat the ringleader, though a bit of a slacker; first tenor. Eugene - nervous & awkward, a worrier; second tenor with great falsetto Wally - son of a preacher; bass in 3-part, baritone in 4-part. Skip - hot, sexy, brooding blue-collar interloper who stirs the pot; bass in 4-part but sings high in solos. Lois - the "girl", she comes in to help polish the guys act and, of course, they all fall in love with her; strong pop sound. Also the voice of Denny's mother.

Song & Dance (Fall) and Winter Wonderettes (holiday) are pre-cast.
